One of my favorite lunch spots. Great food and the weather's getting nice enough to sit in their outdoor dining.

Great place to eat lunch. One of my favorite places where we go often for lunch. Because the food is so good it's a very busy place. They do a big lunch business so if you can go right after the lunch hour.

Delicious Italian sandwich (the Godfather) and Reuben sandwich. Amazing food. Better than I expected it to be. Good crusty bread on the godfather - generous amount of meat and perfect ratio of ingredients. Get the homemade potato chips as a side!!

I would like to say this place is awful so it wouldn't be so busy whenever we went but... everything we have ever eaten here is absolutely scrumptious. They have really great food and rotate inventive specials to keep things lively. Love their Moms special pizza, Buffalo sliders, steak sandwiches, BLTs.and homemade chips. Very good food and .....when you order Take Out they double check your order without asking. Imagine that!

Tavern 42 is my favorite restaurant in all of Clayton, North Carolina - my friends and family feel the same way!

Flatbread was dope! The place itself looks like the cutest house with a bunch of comfy chairs and diff places to sit. Great beer menu and had a sick fall drink list. Keri and Tristan made me wonderful drinks and were great hosts! I'll be back if they will have me!

Food menu and service was GREAT! So grateful for word of mouth about Tavern 42, local residents are RIGHT! Glad they were open Sunday afternoon. My friend and I gave this tavern a try and they did not disappoint!!

A must try if you're in the area!! One of my all-time favorites. Great bar food and drinks at amazing prices. The inside is quite small, so it can get busy and packed quickly especially after 5. There are plenty of parking options, but the adjacent lot is small then there's a dirt lot right across from the restaurant as well. The size of the restaurant is my only complaint. I live right across the street so I just do to-go, but have gone during the week for lunch a few times when it wasn't too busy. They have a full bar with a lot of beer and liquor options as well as a few wine options. The servers are all friendly and helpful. Definitely a small-town family feel when you go. Now to the important part...the food. AMAZING. Everything is good here and there's an assortment of options. I've had so many different things on the menu and I have always been pleased. The prices are also great for the quality and quantity you get. Some of my favorite dishes include: Mango Jalapeno Wings Pizza Subs Stuffed Mushroom (stuffed with crab and shrimp) Mussels Homemade chips Shrimp in Garlic Salmon BLT Wrap Stromboli Also, they have great specials every weekend that start on Thursday evenings and go Friday and Saturday evening. So far, I haven't seen them repeat any of their specials so if you see one you'd like to try you'd better just jump in and try it. They post their specials on their Facebook page as well as any updates so make sure to Like and Follow them there!
